DSEK said this on the sidelines of the Annual Day function organised by Government Boys Higher Secondary School Zainakout on Srinagar outskirts. Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) exclusively, Mir said, “We encourage such events so that we will have an idea about the talent of our students and the hard-work of our teachers.” He said: “At the end of the academic year, we try to explore the things which were conducted by the institutions so that students and teachers will be encouraged.” The director further said that the department used to have fewer institutional days. “But after 30 years, we had 220 academic days in the previous year and that has empowered us to conduct such events as per the NEP.” He said, “We don’t have inbuilt heating systems but we have placed coal Chimneys wherever required.
